How we hunger for good news amid the daily headlines of layoffs, bailouts and bankruptcies. I probably should not have been surprised by the outpouring of attention that greeted Martha Brannigan's story last week about local banker Leonard Abess, who gave $60 million of the money he made from selling his bank to his employees to thank them for their years of service.
