From the flowers to the banquet hall, donations poured in to give a North Texas bride the wedding of her dreams.
At Paradise Cove, which is on the shore of Lake Grapevine, family and friends came to celebrate the wedding of nine-year-old Jayla Cooper. The ceremony was put together in less than one week.
We didnt expect to do this when she was nine years old, but she has taught us all how to love each other and to be strong, said Lisa Cooper, Jaylas mother.
Jayla has battled leukemia for the past two years. Its a battle that will likely end in a few weeks.
He is very cute and I love him, Jayla said of the groom, Jose Griggs.
Jose and Jayla met at Childrens Medical Center and quickly formed a strong bond.
He knows whats going on, said Charla Griggs, Joses mother. He understands that she is going to a better place.
The young boys parents said Jayla helped their son with his own battle with illness.
Hes brighter, happier and more content with all that they go through in the hospital, said Lawrence Griggs, Joses father. She changed that, brought it all out [and] opened up a side of him I hadnt seen.
The symbolic wedding was a celebration of life and friendship.
I cant explain how I feel right now, Cooper said. Im happy, but at the at same time I am sad because I know my child is going to go to heaven with the Lord.
Cooper said she is ready to cherish the time she has remaining with her daughter — and has a message for other parents.
Show your kids that you love them every moment of your life because you never know, she said.
A fund has been set up in Jayla Coopers name at the Grace Community Health Clinic, which can be reached at 817-305-4650 or visit www.gracegrapevine.org.

![Title:Memories: A Jonas Story Ch 1 Description:[AN: Make sure you read the intro!]

Chapter 1-

Being a normal fifteen year old girl isn't all that easy. Actually being a teenager at all isn't easy at all. I guess you could say that I'm an average girl: I get good grades and I have my group of friends. Okay, so I don't have that many friends, but why should that matter? So what if I'm the girl you've probably seen in some movies---you know the one that sits in the back and never talks and when she's called on freaks out so she can't really answer? Yup, that's definitely me. No one notices me and I'm invisible. I guess you could call me antisocial? But I do have two best friends: my sister Cassidy and an Australian foreign exchange student, Torrence, who lives with us. We have been through everything together and I love them dearly. My life has definitely had its share of good and bad memories: my mom dying when I was thirteen, finding out I had a brain tumor when I was nine, recovering from cancer and celebrating when we found out it was in remission, and the best memory of all: meeting the love of my life. But, there is one memory that will haunt me forever, and that's the one that I wish I could forget. Well, I suppose I should start at the beginning so you understand.

*

"Madison, you do know that it's Saturday, you don't have to get up early." My dad always makes fun of me just cuz I love to start my days off bright and early. Actually, my dad doesn't understand why I wake up at six o'clock every morning, and I guess I still don't know why I do. I think it's cuz my mom was always waking up early to make breakfast and I would help her. But now that she's gone, we don't have those breakfasts anymore, but I still find myself getting up anyway.

"Maybe you should go to the studio today. I remembered you always loved going there. If your sister wakes up, I'm sure she would be happy to take you." Great, that's just what I needed: another suggestion to start singing again. See, I loved to sing, especially with my mom. But, you know, when someone you love dies: it's hard to return to the things you once enjoyed doing, so I haven't sung since the day she went. And now, my dad is stilling trying to get me to sing again, which is a sore subject. Nevertheless, I agree to ask Cassidy to take me to the studio just to make him happy. Because that man hasn't been happy for two years. I feel bad for the guy, but I know it must hurt to lose your wife, the one that was supposed to be with you through everything because I know how much it hurts to lose your mother. So while waiting for my sister to get up, I decide to take a shower and get dressed, but I won't go into detail about that...

10:00 AM

I hate my sister's car: it's a piece of crap, but it gets us places. I can't wait till it gets handed down to me. That's sarcasm of course. As we pull up to a parking space, the car conveniently dies right then and there: good timing I guess. She calls the car a few choice names and then when we get out of the car, we both stop and look at the front of the building. I hesitate to open the door because I know once I go in there, memories of my mom would come back, which I didn't want to happen. So just as expected, as soon as I walk into a studio, even the smell of the place could make me sick. I really want to leave, but I then I remember that I'm doing this for my dad. My sister smiles as she leaves me to be alone in my worst nightmare. She closes the door and as soon as she's gone, I really do feel alone. I start to cry because being here reminds me of the time my mom took me to help record a song for my parent's twentieth wedding anniversary. Even though I'm crying now, I start to realize this might be a good time to start playing something on my guitar. My dad always says I write best when I'm emotional. Gee thanks Dad. So a few chords here and there get thrown down, but that's about it because once I open my mouth to sing, I shut it again. When I look at the clock it says it's noon, but I don't believe that. I couldn't have been here for two hours already. Time flies when you're...having fun.

[Song: Simple Song Artist: Miley Cyrus]](http://i.ytimg.com/vi/fWSomMS_hr0/2.jpg)
