Farrah Fawcett died from cancer today Charlies Angels star and 70s TV icon finally at peace.
It is a sad day for those who grew up knowing and loving Farrah Fawcett and her magnificent body of acting work. Farrah Fawcett succumbed to her cancer this morning, finally relieved from the agonizing pain she was bravely enduring for so long. She was very courageous candid about her struggles with the disease and continued to be so until the end.
Although the world will always best remember her as the star of the biggest selling poster of all time; the beautiful 70s television icon who famously posed in the red bathing-suit, the gorgeous blonde on Charlies Angeles, she was a brilliant actress and should be also remembered for the fearless honesty she brought to her characters. Ironically, she was only a cast member of Charlies Angels for one season before broadening her horizons into more complex roles.
Voted best looking in high-school, she was certainly a beauty and as a result, was often not considered a serious actress. She changed that public opinion when she earned best-actress nominations from both the Emmys and the Golden Globe. Extremities and The Burning Bed truly exhibited her ability to be both a strong heroine and a traumatized victim both with the emotional accuracy that someone that was just eye candy could not have achieved.
Famously linked to both Lee Majors and Ryan ONeal, Farrah had a son, Redmond, who was her world. She was described as an incredible mother to him no matter what the situation. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2006 and fought the good fight until it spread and could no longer be contained. Ryan ONeal stayed by her side through the entire ordeal and has been quoted as recently saying In the last two years, I've loved her more than I've ever loved her — ever.
There were some downs in her personal and professional life but the world is better off remembering her for who she really was, talented performer, wonderful mother and loving wife. She will be dearly missed.

Importance of Using Aseptic Technique with propofol (Dipriva
FDA is alerting healthcare professionals about several clusters of patients who experienced chills, fever, and body aches shortly after receiving propofol for endoscopic procedures. Propofol, which is marketed as Diprivan and also sold generically, is administered IV to induce or maintain general anesthesia and sedation.
The adverse events occurred in several states, and the FDA and CDC are continuing to investigate these reports. To date, there is no evidence that the symptomatic patients had bacterial sepsis, or that the propofol vials or pre-filled syringes were contaminated with endotoxins or bacteria.
Nonetheless, FDA is reemphasizing the importance of handling the drug according to the strict aseptic technique described in the product labeling. Here are several key recommendations:
• Use a vial or pre-filled syringe on only one patient.
• Start giving the propofol immediately after the vial or syringe is opened.
• When using the drug for general anesthesia or monitored anesthesia care sedation, finish administering the drug within six hours after opening the vial or pre-filled syringe. For ICU sedation where propofol is administered directly from a vial, complete administration within 12 hours of spiking the vial. In all cases, discard any remaining drug.
• If a patient develops fever, chills, body aches or other symptoms of acute febrile reactions shortly after receiving propofol, evaluate the patient for bacterial sepsis and treat if necessary.
• Report any adverse events associated with the use of propofol through FDA's MedWatch program.
